Seahorse Art Mask Costume Theatre Halloween Make Believe Wool Felt Fun

Here is my second "FaceScape"  This one is more geared toward children.  I simplified the seahorse for a more "cutesy" look rather than realistic.  I thought it would be fun for people who work with children, like storytellers, daycare workers, teachers  etc.  Bright and cheery.

It was a nice change of pace from Halloween masks :)

New Art Mask Halloween Costume Festivals Theatre "FaceScape" Tree Frog

I am excited to explore this new-to-me concept in masks.   I call it "FaceScapes."  The idea is to create small scenes on the face in the form of a mask.  I really love the possibilities of adding yet another layer to the scene by adding face paint or make-up.  I think these will appeal to those who a) do not like their whole face covered, b) teachers and daycare workers that might want fun new ways to illustrate a story, c) performing arts.

Come to think of it, doctors and nurses at Childrens hospitals should really sport one of these to check on their wee patients.  I know it would make me feel better!

These are really fun and quite challenging to make. I cannot wait to see where this adventure takes me...

Scary Halloween Custom Jack-O-Lantern Wool Felted Mask

The Winner of last weeks contest featured on SpinArtiste was Aubrey Barkley, and here is what she wrote:

"I'd love to see a wicked witch or a cat for Halloween. But my top choice would be a pumpkin head, evil with teeth of course. Sort of reminding me of the story of Sleepy Hollow.

I had already made a witch, and I wasn't feeling inspired to make a cat.  I was intrigued by the challenge of an evil pumpkin head, thus Whack-O Jack-O was born.  Thankfully Aubrey was pleased with it, so I am as well.
